Code of Conduct
Everyone who uses Not a Wedding Crasher — guests, hosts, and companions — agrees to these standards. Our community only works when everyone shows up with intention and respect.
Purpose & Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all users of the Not a Wedding Crasher platform — including guests, hosts (couples), and companions — across all interactions on the platform and at events booked through it. By creating an account, you agree to uphold these standards.
Expectations for All Users
- Treat every person on the platform with dignity and respect
- Communicate honestly and in good faith at all times
- Respect the privacy of other users — do not share personal information without consent
- Use the platform only for its intended purpose: connecting couples with verified guests
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
Guest-Specific Expectations
- Attend only weddings for which you have a confirmed booking through the platform
- Arrive on time and dressed appropriately for the dress code specified in the listing
- Behave as a respectful, welcome guest — this is someone's wedding day
- Respect the couple's wishes regarding photography, social media, and other event-day policies
- Do not bring uninvited guests or companions who are not part of your confirmed booking
- Write sincere, honest personal notes when submitting seat requests
- Complete identity verification promptly when prompted after host approval
- Do not consume alcohol to excess or engage in disruptive behavior
Host-Specific Expectations
- Provide accurate, complete, and truthful event information in your listing
- Review seat requests fairly and without discrimination based on protected characteristics
- Respond to seat requests within the 48-hour window
- Communicate event logistics clearly to confirmed guests before the event
- Honour confirmed bookings — cancelling a confirmed guest is a last resort
- Complete Stripe Connect and identity verification before listing your event
Prohibited Behavior
The following behaviors will result in immediate suspension or permanent removal from the platform:
- Harassment, intimidation, threats, or abusive language directed at any user
- Discrimination based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic
- Creating fraudulent listings, applications, or identities
- Circumventing identity verification or the seat request and approval process
- Attending a wedding without a confirmed booking or bringing unbooked guests
- Taking or sharing photographs or video in violation of the host's stated policy
- Sharing another user's personal information without their consent
- Using the platform for any commercial purpose other than the intended seat marketplace
- Providing false ratings or reviews
Reporting Violations
If you witness or experience a violation of this Code of Conduct — whether on the platform or at an event — please report it immediately:
- Use the in-platform reporting feature on any listing, conversation, or rating
- Contact us directly at hello@notaweddingcrasher.com
All reports are reviewed by our team. We take every report seriously and will follow up within 5 business days.
Enforcement & Consequences
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in any of the following, at our discretion:
- A formal warning issued to your account
- Temporary suspension from the platform
- Permanent removal from the platform
- Referral to law enforcement where required
We reserve the right to remove any user from the platform at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. Enforcement decisions are final.
